Source Library Heartbeat¶
Current through: July 6, 2026
Software teams adopting agents need guidance that keeps pace with tool behavior, research, and governance practice. The monthly heartbeat is a light review loop for checking whether the source library still supports the workbench.
Cadence¶
Monthly, first Monday.
Review Scope¶
- DORA research on AI-assisted software development.
- GitLab research and reporting on AI accountability and agentic software engineering.
- OpenAI Codex and
AGENTS.mdguidance. - Claude Code project memory guidance.
- GitHub Copilot agent and
AGENTS.mdguidance. - NIST Secure Software Development Framework.
- OWASP ASVS.
llms.txtecosystem notes.- Public examples of agentic engineering governance and review practice.
Output¶
Each heartbeat should produce a dated research note with:
- source deltas;
- stale or broken links;
- public claims that need review;
- new risks or governance patterns;
- two to five possible blog post angles.
Publication Rule¶
Heartbeat notes are review candidates. They do not automatically update public guidance. Public changes still require a branch, pull request, validation, and human review.
High-Stakes Reminder¶
If a source update affects security, privacy, legal, compliance, clinical, financial, safety, regulated data, or production-release guidance, route the change through qualified local review before publishing it.
